The EVO X Obsession Launch

I was at the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X Launch held in The Apartment KLCC a few weeks back. There were some Malaysian celebrities there like miss Amber Chia, a Hitz.com DJ, Karamjit Sigh and also the drift master Tengku Djan. There were loads of eager people there for this launch but my expectation was brought to the ground when I saw it. There was nothing to shout about coz it looks like a normal Lancer. Don’t get me wrong this Evo X is a great looking car but I would think they could come out with something better like the Nissan GTR (Just for your info, I am a Nissan Fan J)(And yes the GTR is in a different range of cars). With a 4B11 MIVEC (295 horses) turbocharged engine I would think this is the car to have for a 3 hundred thousand ringgit. The finishing to this car is pretty good with a wide body, dual exhaust back spoiler and don’t forget a set of 18” BBS rimes to make it classy. This car comes with 3 colours for now which are the black, white and red. Red looks the coolest and it would be great if they can come out with a yellow one coz I recon it would look stunning in yellow. The most fascinating thing that they have added is the twin clutch transmission.

To bad they did not let us have a test run on this Rally marvel but the I had done the next best thing, I managed to sit on it and gave it a rev but got cased out after doing so (Well who cares at least I have sat on it before). The Recaro seats were pretty comfy toped with leather steering and the cool thing was it has a sunroof! Just a thought, Mitsubishi should come out with something new (in the form of looks) like what Nissan did and what Honda (NSX) and Mazda (the RX Series) did many years a go, come out with a fresh new look in their performance car or not base on a normal road car that they already have. With this many people can modify their road car with a fraction of the price and for those who owns the “top of the range” cars will not have exclusiveness. Well i guess we have the first thumbs up for the day !
